People, Places and Things – Powerful award-winning drama
When actor Emma breaks down on stage, she finally realises she needs help with her addiction to booze and drugs. In rehab she struggles with the therapy side of recovery, unable to let go, admit to her problems or bare her soul. In the starring role is Denise Gough, the Irish actor who won an Olivier for her ‘titanic’ role in the 2016 production at Wyndham's Theatre, which was itself nominated for the Olivier Award for Best New Play. The stage treatment is extraordinary, with intimate on-stage seating bringing audiences closer to the action and the emotions being played out.
Six Drama Desk Awards, a WhatsOnStage Award and a Critic’s Circle Award make this British drama at its finest, an experience anyone who likes their drama powerful and impactful will love. The creative team is equally impressive, including Bunny Christie’s innovative set design. Costume designer Christina Cunningham, lighting designer James Farncombe, composer Matthew Herbert, sound designer Tom Gibbons, video designer Andrzej Goulding, movement director Polly Bennett, and casting director Jessica Ronane complete the picture, with original casting from Wendy Spon. Expect something fierce, raw, and very hard to forget.
