Charlie Cook's Favourite Book
Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book is a wonderful musical adaptation of the best-selling children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Produced by the award-winning Little Angel Theatre, the West End run follows a critically-acclaimed UK tour. Donaldson’s long-term creative partnership with Scheffler has given us a host of fantastic children’s stories and plays including The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Princess Mirror-Belle, and The Smartest Giant in Town. A knack for knowing exactly what inspires children to laugh and learn makes every story a little slice of genius.
The plot? Charlie’s sister hates reading, but Charlie loves it. Can he change his sister’s mind with a story so amazing she won’t be able to resist? The fun is performed by Georgie Samuels, Pierre Hanson-Johnson and Jazmine Wilkinson, directed by Samantha Lane and composed by Barb Jungr, and the set and costume is by Ellie Mills. The puppets are by Maia Kirkman-Richards and lighting by Sherry Coenen. Stage managed by Olivia Preston, this is a Little Angel Theatre, Lowry and Rose Theatre co-production. Bring the family along for a gorgeous musical specially designed for kids aged three to eight but a treat for all the family, it’s so colourful and happy.
